Pork
Crunchy Barbequed Spareribs
(Serves 4-5)
Simmering the spareribs first removes some of the fat and tenderizes them as well.
- 1 onion, peeled and quartered
- 2 garlic cloves, peeled
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 6 whole peppercorns
- Water to cover the spareribs
- 4 lbs spareribs
- 1 bottle Cattleboyz or Diana Barbeque sauce
- In a large pot on high heat, bring ingredients except the spareribs and barbeque sauce to a boil. Immerse the spareribs. They should be covered by the water. Simmer for 30 minutes. Drain.
- Brush the ribs with the barbeque sauce. Grill on medium heat, baste and turn frequently for 15 - 20 minutes, or until ribs are crisp and brown. Serve the remaining sauce separately.
