Crunchy Barbequed Spareribs
(Serves 4-5)

Simmering the spareribs first removes some of the fat and tenderizes them as well.

  • 1 onion, peeled and quartered
  • 2 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 6 whole peppercorns
  • Water to cover the spareribs
  • 4 lbs spareribs
  • 1 bottle Cattleboyz or Diana Barbeque sauce
  1. In a large pot on high heat, bring ingredients except the spareribs and barbeque sauce to a boil. Immerse the spareribs. They should be covered by the water. Simmer for 30 minutes. Drain.
  2. Brush the ribs with the barbeque sauce. Grill on medium heat, baste and turn frequently for 15 - 20 minutes, or until ribs are crisp and brown. Serve the remaining sauce separately.
