Riot-Causing, Family-Feuding Arrowroot Squares

  • 29 arrowroot cookies (crushed into ½" pieces)
  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 4 Tbsp cocoa
  • 4 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 ½ cup chopped nuts (optional)
  1. Melt the butter, cocoa and brown sugar in a double boiler. Add the two beaten eggs and stir until slightly thickened, then add the crushed arrowroots.
  2. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and chopped nuts.
  3. Press into an 8"x8" cake pan, lined with waxed paper.
  4. Chill and ice with vanilla icing.
